Jackie's Brutalist Altadena Home
Owner Jackie Beat is a writer, comedian, and singer who wanted to transform a house originally built in 1925 and was poorly remodeled in the 1980’s. Jackie’s inspiration was Brutalist Architecture, as well as the dystopian design portrayed in the original Planet of The Apes films. Along with some vintage furniture and artwork, there are very contemporary elements in the form of the cabinetry and the layout in the kitchen and master bathroom. The result? Jackie’s favorite home in which he has ever lived. Jackie's home was recently featured in The New York Times.
